#126 closed bug (fixed)

File extension defaults to .txt

The default file extension appears to be .txt for all files written within IGOR. When using the SANS macros, it would be helpful if we didn't have to manually choose "all files (*.*)" before writing a file with an alternate extension, such as .abs. If we forget to choose "all files", then the file written ends with .txt, even if you provide the .abs extension in the filename. For example, if I say that I want the file to be named, "test.abs", it will be named "test.txt" (rather than even "test.abs.txt") unless I manually select "all files (*.*)" from the drop down menu.

Can we have the "all files (*.*)" option as the default?

I think I've hit them all. All of the OS Open dialogs (used to get a file name for saving) now default to /T="????" which is all files on the mac and PC (same as "*.*"). Now the .txt will not get appended to the end, but rather the exact file name that you choose.

made the same change to the analysis and the USANS packages.
