Things to Know
using Gmail online: Create a message, then drag & drop the desired location for the picture from your PC into the email.
Alternately, place the cursor where you want the image to appear, choose Insert Photo > Inline, then select Insert after picking your picture.
App for Gmail Choose the photos you wish to send by tapping the paperclip, then choose Attach file. By default, images are supplied inline.
This article describes how to insert an inline image into a Gmail message so that it shows up in the email's body. The Gmail mobile apps for iOS and Android are covered in the instructions.

How to Attach a Photo in Gmail
When using a desktop web browser to compose an email in Gmail, you can add an image or photo inline:

To enlarge the composition window, select the Expand window icon (the double-sided arrow) in its upper-right corner.

Drag and drop the image from its folder to the right place in the message on your computer.

Drag an image to the New Message screen in Gmail.
Additionally, you can use Control+V (for Windows and Linux) or Command+V to paste the image from the clipboard into the email at the appropriate place (for Mac).

How to Send a Picture in Gmail from the Internet or Google Photos
As an alternative, you can upload an image from your computer or use one you find online:

The text cursor should be placed where you wish the image to appear.

In the formatting toolbar, click the Insert Photo icon.

In order for the images to appear inside the email, choose Inline next to Insert images.

To send the image as an attachment, select As attachment.

Select Upload > Choose Photos to Upload and open the selected image to upload from your computer.

While you are composing the message, images that you upload from your computer are still accessible in the Insert picture dialog box (but not for other emails).

Go to the Photos tab and choose the image you wish to include to enter from Google Photos.

Photos are arranged similarly on the Albums tab to how they are in your Google Photos albums.

To utilize a web-based image, click the Web Address (URL) tab and then click the box that says Paste an image URL here.

The message is accompanied by web images. Never are these pictures sent as attachments. The image won't be seen to any recipients who have remote images banned.
