Description

Hi, Steven

This is Liwei Huang, grad student of Howard Wang. I have very nice experience with your SANS data reduce macros in Igor. However, there is one little thing that bothers me when I use the NSORT_Panel in your lastest version. I load three .ABSx files and try to normalize them, first time I normalize all of three with Low Q file, everything works fine, then I click normalize check box in Medium Q, trying to normalize them to the Medium Q file as another option, but then all these files loaded in NSORT_Panel immediately change into other files before I click any other buttons, and these changed files are right before previously loaded files in file number sequence respectively. Because My data files are labeled with Trans, Scatt, so that when I do the combine, sort is the only way, and that's why I did a lot of work on sort to find this.

Thanks for a great tool for reducing SANS data.

i know what it's doing - when it writes out a new file, it re-plots the data to be sure it has plotted what is selected in the popup menus. Unfortunately - he's saved a new file that is alphabetically before all of his "selected" files. So the item number that is selected in each popup is now off by one from what is displayed.

I've known about this for a long time, and I'm not sure what to do about it.

There's not much that I can do about this. Once a new data file is written out, there's a new file that will be on the popup list the next time that it's "popped" - like when you touch any of them, or if you click one of the normalization checkboxes. It's set to rebuild the lists for the checkboxes at any chance, to ensure that you have the right list.

Only an issue if you give your newly written file a name that is alphabetically before the names you currently have selected. If they are below the selection, the lists won't shift.
