calculate it

when do I apply it?

during the q-binning (weighting each pixel)?

as a whole detector (multiplication) before the q-binning?

the solid angle correction is calculated and applied as the data is converted to WORK, along with most of the other corrections (other than wide angle transmission)

The data is divided by the solid angle, so each pixel is on a counts per solid angle per pixel basis.

In this way, when the absolute scaling is calculated, the solid angle has already been accounted for, and should be omitted from the calculation. The difference in units will be obvious.
