Data file access speedup

Reported by: srkline Owned by: srkline

What if I make a change to both the local folder and the file on disk when any changes are made? Then there would be no immediate need to discard the local copy and to re-read the data.

Refreshing could be on demand, as new files come in, or simply to be confident that changes were truly made to disk, and that the list is fresh and correct.
Ugh. Really could be three places:
WORK folder
file on disk

use the WM procedure:

#include <FunctionProfiling?>

and read the instructions in the file

Now with the addition of the back detector, this is becoming a larger issue. The back detector is huge in comparison to the other panels, and slows the file read significantly.

One option is to read only the metadata for the file catalog, not the actual detector arrays. Not sure if this is possible, though.

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed

slow is how it must be. The method I use to read the whole file is robust. I'll stick with that.
